POST BIRTHDAY REPORT
They say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. In this case, through Wan's buncit stomach. And since i was so miserably broke, i decided to bake cookies for his birthday present.
But wait! These are no ordinary cookies. I baked fortune cookies for him. In selected cookies, i inserted love messages. Some came in the form of love quotes from movies & Shakespeare's plays while the rest were free treats from me (like 'free back rub' or 'free bubble tea drink at a stall of your choice' etc. I'm cheapskate, i know) . I hope Wan doesnt eat those messages though. But wait again! I made a card for him. Yeah, my handicraft skills were pretty rusty but nevertheless, I'm a proud girl when i handed over that card. I toiled and slaved over it for days but the end result? Very satisfying. Loved it. And, on top of that, i made those Konyakku jellies he loved and craved so much. Am sweet or am i sweet? He finished 2 jellies in approximately 1 minute. Record breaking. Good thing he didn't choke on them. And after all that has been said and done, it's nice to feel appreciated. He confessed that this cheapo gift is the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for him. It's worth more than any material gifts i could ever present to him because it comes from the heart. The effort, time, labour, creative thinking and well, sweat sure means alot to him. Twas nice to see him gobble the jellies, munching on the cookies and raving on the card and all the effort i put in to make all these. Well bushuk, u have to admit that i make the best cookies, the nicest jellies and the most amazing and sincere card. Oh come on, admit it! And when you said that this gift really touches your heart and soul, it touched mine to hear that from you too. I was quite apprehensive on how he will react to these handmade goodies. But i guess it was worth the effort afterall! But Wan, on your next birthday, when i am rid of the financial obligations to save up for a wedding, i will give you much more than just cookies and jellies. PROMISE. In the meantime, just enjoy the cookies which i had baked with lotsa love and sweat (human sweat makes better cookies! Really, go try it). ![]() But right now, im pissed. My no good digicam has gone berserk! That damn bulky gadget just wouldnt start up! That explains the reason why i was not able to capture the snapshots of Wan's birthday. What a waste cos i'd love to put up the look on his face after swallowing 2 jellies in the space of 1 minute. Damn! Damn! Damn! Don't ever buy Pentax cameras, lemme tell ya that. They're heavy and slow with lousy components. I seldom use the camera cos im not a camera whore. At least most of the time. I never mishandle it cos i am a gentle person who takes great care with extreme gentleness of such a delicate gadget. Been using it for less than 2 years and now it's spoilt, just when the warranty period is over! Argh! And they have only one service centre, located at the other end of the island in Corporation Road which, by the way, only opens during office hours. Bodoh nak mampus! I want to cry. PS: Today is the fiance's mum's birthday. Yes, their birthdays are one day apart. And being the dutiful daughter-in-law to be, wan & me shared the cost of a gorgeous, sparkling blue brooch as her gift. And being the thoughtful bakal anak menantu, i called her and wished her a happy birthday & mother's day, the moment i woke up today. Am i sweet or am i sweet?
