SLOW AFTERNOON
Dum dee dum... what a boring day... Watched SI yesterday and have resigned to the fact that neither Shirin nor Nana will make it to the finals. They've got abundant talent but who got chosen? A shaky sounding, tattooed Maia, Scrawny Slyvester and a hard up, SI wannabe Beverly.
Maia was chosen because of her turbulent life experiences and spunk. Life experiences? I thought this is a talent contest? And i noticed something about the judges. Most of the time, when one agrees/disagrees, the rest will follow suit. you go judge it for yourselves. now that i have all the time in the world, i can watch as many DVDs as i want. my dad (yes, my dad) recommended me to watch The Count of Monte Cristo.
Set in the 19th century during the ruling of Napoleon, the story spins one of betrayal, love and revenge. Alexandre Dumas' classic is a story of an honest and innocent man wrongly but deliberately imprisoned and his brilliant strategy for revenge against those who betrayed him. story's a lil draggy and slow but the underlying elements of betrayal, vengeance and strength is intriguing enough to make me sit thru the entire movie (or perhaps i was bored?) Somehow, Jim Caviezel's role as Edmond Dantes reminds me so much of Wan. He even looked a little like him. Gosh, i miss him so. But how could it be? I just saw him yesterday. Oh heck, i still miss him anyway...
