SINGAPORE IDOL? *ROLLS EYES*
So I watched Singapore Idol (SI) for the first time. So what? It was the exact duplicate of American Idol, except, in SI, there are 4 judges. 4 fake judges. Why do they need 4 judges anyway? To intimidate the contestants maybe? But is there really a need for an extra judge? Somehow, i feel the remarks made by them sounded forced, fake and rehearsed.
There was Ken Lim, appearing to be a brooding and intimidating figure. His comments were rather harsh, direct and was always delivered with that cynical look plastered on his face. A Simon Cowell of Singapore? Originality questioned. *rolls eyes* Then the affable Doug Oliveiro, who irked me the least among the four. Loved it when he said to a contestant "This is what the Malays would call 'Syiok sendiri'". Haha! Next, Florence Lian. I.dont.know.what.the.hell.she.is.doing.there. Can't they get someone with more experience in showbusiness? And lastly, Dick Lee, who constantly wears that amused look on his face and spewed harsh, sarcastic remarks but somehow sounded fabricated and fake (note: i've said this word too many times already). Could it be that he actually pretended to act cynical to the point of being overcritical? maybe you'd agree with me, maybe not. But watch closely and you will see what i mean. SI is such an imitation! Note: Remember the girl who had to leave the audition to find 5 people who thought she could sing? *rolls eyes again* Come on! Show me something i have not seen! We shall see what unfolds in the upcoming episodes. PS: Tomorrow is my last day in the office. Heard some whispers going around about swensen's ice cream cake. hmm.. *grins*
