SHE BREATHES
She picks up a pen, then places it down Underneath the twisted thoughts She glances out the wndow to breathe the air Blow the smoke that clouds her mind Has it fade away, dissolved, gone?
She flips the papers, saw more bad news Darkness crawls beneath her skin She sips black coffee, tasted the bitterness As life injustices taught her to grow Has it touched her, bring to light and show?
She turns on the radio, a familiar tune Haunted, tainted by dreamless nights She runs her fingers through her hair Of broken friendships, misjudged reactions Is this what they mean as life's designations?
She stares into space, a picture in her head When night falls, she will erase the path She sees the light now in her solitary reverie Encircle and embrace with immense relief She smiles, as tonight, she will breathe
